This
site is dedicated to discovering and promoting artists
in the northern Michigan area and beyond. We began in
2001 by publishing the
Arts
& Artists catalog featuring artists and galleries
"around the bay." We
highlighted works by artists in the Traverse City to Harbor
Springs region of Michigan. In 2002 we expanded to include
Cheboygan and Mackinac artists. Over 10,000 copies of this
guide were distributed throughout the area annually. You may request
back copies of this publication here. In 2006 we decided to focus on the website portion of the project.
With
this website we are expanding to represent many more
fine artists and galleries in Michigan.
Apply
now for inclusion. You may apply at any time throughout the year.
Currently
our on-line catalog represents artists in the following media: acrylic,
drawing, glass, jewelry, oil, pastel, performing arts, photography,
sculpture, and watercolor. Browse our media
page to find specific artists in each of these areas.
In the
future we hope to expand our community to include writers,
videographers, woodworkers, weavers, potters, musicians, theater
groups, comedians, artists creating "wearable art,"
and many others! If your talents fall in these artistic areas
or any others, please apply for inclusion. We look forward to
showcasing all the artistic talent in our northern Michigan
