Levine's Levering studio is situated right next to her flourishing
garden. You can tell what season it is by her paintings: early
spring pops up narccisus and tulips; May brings the fragrance
of lilacs; summertime invites us to gather a huge bouquet
of peonies. Daisies are fun and the bold and beautiful geraniums
are an annual favorite. Romance blooms with the roses. It
is wonderful to see the beauty Elaine paints throughout the
seasons.
Painting in oils on canvas, Elaine starts her artistic romance
by picking her fresh bouquet and turning on classical music.
The ambiance transforms Elaine as a part of her paint brush.
She senses the colors, texture, and smells of her surroundings.
With controlled brush strokes, Elaine's hand and eye transform
the white canvas into a symphony of color.

Elaine
is a painter of moods. Color may suggest an emotional atmosphere
or offer hues and tones that are simply sensuously satisfying.
Using the temper of the pallet knife, a sweep of her brush,
or just the rubbing of her fingers, Elaine paints with her
whole self. Elaine sees the mysterious heart of the flower.
Elaine
Levine's work is on display at Art Above the Coop, 216 S.
Main, Cheboygan, Michigan.
