Dick Pope was raised in Bay City, Michigan, graduated from Miami University, and finished a thirty-five year career in banking in December 2001. He and his wife reside in Savannah, Georgia. He began painting some thirty years ago, concentrating on landscapes. The contrasts and color changes presented by outdoor light sources are particularly intriguing to him as is the challenge of capturing them on canvas.

His work has been accepted and exhibited at juried art shows in Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head, South Carolina. Dick has won first place awards in juried shows in both 2001 and 2002.
